Historical tours

The House of St Barnabas can offer historical tours of the House between 9am and 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that these are subject to availability, and are generally over-subscribed. For more information, please contact us.

Custodian TrusteesDavid MonroA descendant of Dr Henry Monro, David is senior partner at Monro Fisher Wasbrough solicitors.
Rev Adam ScottAdam is also a family descendant of Dr Henry Monro. An Anglican priest, his secular work engages his professional background in law, economics and engineering. He is an innovator and has been involved in transforming and privatising BT, the regulation of competition and has engaged with people at St Andrew's University and in the church as a dean in secular employment. In 2009, Adam was appointed Officer in the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of over four decades of service in the voluntary and public sectors.
ChairmanDavid EvansAs a founding partner of The Berkeley Partnership, David Evans brings to the House his expertise in helping management teams to tackle their most complex and critical challenges. He has worked successfully with a range of firms including Marks and Spencers, BP and Euronext. Even before becoming a trustee, David supported the House in mapping out our future and achieving our aims.
TrusteesJenny GuestWith a degree in History of Art and postgraduate qualifications in Museum and Gallery management, Jenny's career has been in museum management, including a secondment to the Active Community Unit (then the government policy unit on charities and voluntary sector within the Home Office). Jenny became involved with the House of St Barnabas about 10 years ago following a tour of the House during Open House weekend. In addition to voluntary work her interests include architecture and fine arts.
Juliet ArmstrongJuliet Armstrong has over twenty years experience as a management consultant covering retail, consumer goods, financial services and health, primarily in strategy, project/programme initiation and management. Her clients are Board and executive level professionals. Juliet joined The Berkeley Partnership in January 1995 and is a Partner in the firm. Juliet led the establishment of Berkeley's 'Community Contribution' initiative in 2006 which resulted in relationships with two local charities, including the House of St Barnabas.
Christine HancockChristine Hancock is director of C3 Collaborating for Health, a global charity working with diverse stakeholders to focus on the 3 risk factors: tobacco, poor diet and lack of physical activity which cause the 4 major chronic diseases: cardiovascular, diabetes, chronic lung disease and many cancers which are responsible for most premature deaths and disability, particularly in the poorest people in all countries. She is an experienced nurse and health service manager, was a Ward Sister at London’s National Heart Hospital, CEO of Waltham Forest’s health service, General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing and then President of the International Council of Nurses.
