Westminster Kingsway College teaches a Pre-Employment Training Programme in Hospitality to volunteers on the Life Skills Programme. The course covers the essential working practices, skills and techniques required by the Hospitality industry, and oversees an exam in Food Safety at the end of the programme.

Cathy Dixon from Energy Roots provides the Life Skills Programme with a course in Self-Empowerment Skills, specifically designed to prepare individuals to return to work.

The BBC has supported the Life Skills Programme by providing the means for the volunteers to create DVDs and podcasts to document their experiences at The House. The BBC has offered complimentary tickets to a variety of shows, staged a series of mock interviews for the programme’s graduates, and hosted several work experience placements.

A recent supporter of the Life Skills Programme, Debenhams ran a complimentary shopping day for volunteers on the last programme, and kitted the team out in brand new interview clothing and footwear.

Soho Theatre presents the best new work for the broadest range of audiences. It also has a community and outreach programme called Soho Connect, which works with people of all ages in many contexts including theatre, schools and diverse communities in order to enable creative learning. The Soho Theatre supports the Life Skills Programme by providing complimentary tickets to a variety of cultural events. The theatre has also taken a number of the Programme’s volunteers for work experience placements.
