The House of St Barnabas will join forces with Paul Bradshaw, former editor and publisher of Straight No Chaser magazine, present their Summer Jazz Series, Journey To The One.
Anglo-Brazilian Nina Miranda is the former lead singer of Da Lata. Hot on the heels of her World Cup 7” Futebol Futuru and her contribution to Gilles Peterson’s Sonzeira: Brasil Bam Bam Bam LP, Nina will performs songs from her forthcoming solo album for this special night at The House Of St. Barnabas. Miranda will invite some of her favourite musicians to share the stage with her including percussionist Anselmo Netto and Ibibio Sound Machine guitarist, Kari Bannerman.
Adriano Adewale is a multi-dimensional percussionist who follows in the footsteps of fellow Brasilian Nana Vasconcelos. His Raizes ensemble features Kadialy Kouyate on kora, Marcelo Andrade on flutes and Rikki Thompson on bass. Adriano Adewale and Raizes’ free flowing compositions will provide an inspiring end to the Summer Jazz Series.
