Making some of our societies unheard and unseen people audible through a unique and revealing soundscape, reflecting the work of The House of St Barnabas.
Rob Olins and Douglas Benford transform The Chapel of St Barnabas into an audio gallery where you can hear audio collages of Ecclesiastical field recordings made of churches, cathedrals and chapels – their bells, interiors and fragments from their outside surroundings.
Olins and Benford have used sound like sculptors model in clay. The audio effect bounces off brightly coloured sound mirrors creating a series of sweet spots or small volumes of space where the sound is focussed and intense. As you walk through the Chapel you will pass through the sweet spots experiencing at one moment a general low level of mixed sound to a clear audio experience.
